Shield: what robots see when they open your link
How Shield changes the page robots read, what it does not do, and how to switch it on per link.

Robots open your links before people do — indexers, whatever builds the preview when someone pastes your link into a chat, and scrapers. Klickly counts them separately from real visits, on every plan, so you can see who comes through and how often. With Shield on, the link also changes what they get: it serves a plain profile cover first, and the rest loads afterwards, on the device. The server never decides what to show based on who is asking — the response is the same, whoever asks for it.

Open the smart link's edit page
Sidebar → Smart Links → pick the link → Edit. Shield lives in the Advanced section, toward the bottom of the editor.

Switch Shield on
It is per link, so you can leave it off for links you only send by DM — nothing crawls those — and on for the one in your bio.

Save, then watch the counter
Within minutes of anything fetching the link you will see entries in Dashboard → Today and in the crawler feed. Each row records which robot called and when.
Where it earns its keep
Switch it on for the link in your bio and for anything you paste into a caption. For links you hand out directly — DM, Telegram, WhatsApp — nothing is going to crawl them, so it changes nothing either way.
What Shield is not
It only governs what a robot receives when it opens the link. It has no bearing on how your photos, videos or captions are treated — that is a separate matter, and no link tool can speak to it. Treat anyone who tells you otherwise with suspicion, including us.
